BEFORE there was a Cowell Portland Cement Plant, there was the Cowell Lime Works, in Santa Cruz. Much of the old Cowell Lime Works are still visible, and are being restored by the Cowell Lime Works Historic District on the campus of UC Santa Cruz. |
